Decided to opt for the function room on Friday night for my birthday and the basement room is so great! Very private but spacious enough for the 20-30 people we had. Great service and FOOD! Everything went super smooth with the booking (booked 4 hours) and the karaoke system is fancier than I’m use to, had a great variety of songs selection. Super happy with the vibe and the way the night ran, thanks so much Heroes bar and THE STAFF for a very memorable birthday! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

A night at Heroes begins on Bourke Street, in the ice-cream shop Nitro Lab. At the back of the store is an elevator that takes you from cool, liquid-nitrogen-produced fog to the rich charcoal smoke of Heroes, the Southeast Asian-inspired bar and barbeque spot from the team behind Fancy Hank’s.

Overall, Heroes feels a little confused. But it’s a fun confusion, and if you can score a booking for that karaoke room you and your crew are in for a great night. Grab a drink to loosen your pipes up, top up the tanks with meat-on-sticks, and live your life like a hero.

A chicken skewer grill, built like a foosbal table, came back with Cheong on the plane from Singapore. It sits in the kitchen next to a custom-built Silver Creek Smokers grill, which she'll use to cook her Singaporean and Malaysian food: think satay sticks, barbecue chicken wings, Sichuan brisket, cooling salads and pickles.
